young plant in coinsLong Family Dental is proud to announce that we are now an in-network provider for the Dental Health Alliance (DHA)! The DHA is a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO), and as a part of it, we’re now able to offer even bigger savings for those patients with DHA insurance plans. How can you get the absolute most out of your DHA benefits with us? Read on to find out!

How to Save with the DHA

In order to become in-network with the DHA, Long Family Dental had to fill out a very detailed evaluation that asked about our standards of care, specialties, professional liability coverage, education, and licensing. This all showed the DHA that we’re able to provide consistent high-quality care that always improves our patients’ lives, so they were more than happy to bring us aboard. This now means that the DHA will cover all or part of the cost of our patients’ services who have DHA insurance plans.

In order to maximize your insurance and save the absolute most on your dental care, you have to know how to properly use it. Dental insurance is quite different from typical medical insurance in that it is mainly focused on prevention. Its goal is to help you avoid the need for extensive dental work rather than just covering the dental work itself.

Why? Because not only is preventive care much more affordable than restorative care, but it’s also much better for your long term oral health. Preventive care like routine checkups and cleanings can stop everyday dental problems like tooth decay, cavities, and gum disease from developing, and over time, this keeps the teeth much stronger. Teeth that have been repaired multiple times using fillings, crowns, bridges, and other restorative measures tend to be much weaker and face more problems as time goes on, no matter the quality of the work itself.

By focusing on prevention, you’ll not only save hundreds of dollars a year on dental care, but you’ll also have a much healthier smile!

This is why you should mostly use your DHA plan to cover your regular preventive checkups. Your plan will likely completely cover for these services, and you may have no actual out of pocket expense. Your plan will probably pay for itself if you just go to your two recommended appointments each year.

Any Questions?

At Long Family Dental, our goal is to provide excellent dental care that is also an excellent value. We believe that everyone should have access to world-class dentistry, and by joining the DHA, we’re a step closer to making that a reality.
