That means it is easier than ever for you to maximize your benefits while taking advantage of the dental services you need to maintain a healthy, clean smile. Keep reading to learn more about your dental insurance and how our new in-network status will affect you and your loved ones!

How Dental Insurance Works

Our office is pleased to be in network with a number of dental insurance plans, with the most recent addition of United Concordia Alliance. By reducing the cost of the preventive and restorative services you need to maintain a healthy smile, the aim of dental insurance is to make it easier for you to avoid the need for costly, complex dental care in the coming years.

When you visit an in-network dentist, you are eligible to receive your savings right away. We will first perform a verification of benefits by calling your dental insurance provider and finding out exactly what you are eligible for under your plan. We can then use this information to help you maximize your benefits with United Concordia Alliance.

Most dental insurance plans are set on a calendar year, and few have rollover periods. That means this month is a great time to visit a dentist who can help you take advantage of any unused benefits before they expire at the end of December. If you haven’t had two checkups and cleanings for the year, we’ll recommend starting there — remember they are free with dental insurance!

What Is Covered by Dental Insurance?

Dental insurance coverage may vary slightly from plan to plan, but the basics are usually the same. Preventive care, like checkups and cleanings and X-rays, should be 100% covered by your dental insurance plan. If you need basic restorative treatments, like fillings or extraction, the cost is typically covered up to 80%. You will usually be expected to pay up to 50% of the cost of more extensive dental work. Dental insurance usually does not cover elective procedures or complex restorative treatments like dental implants.

Not In-Network? Not a Problem!

Don’t be discouraged if you have an insurance provider other than United Concordia Alliance or the other providers we are in-network with. Dental insurance differs from medical coverage in that you can often still receive the same benefits visiting an out-of-network provider. Don’t hesitate to contact us and discuss the particulars of your coverage! We process, file, and follow-up on all claims. No matter who your provider is, we’ll always work to help you maximize your investment!
